How mods pizza Became a Movement

In the heart of Naperville, Illinois, two founders sat down over a shared love of food and a frustration with the ordinary. They envisioned a place where mods pizza wasn't just a meal — it was an expression. 2008

The First Oven is Lit

Scott and Ally Svenson open the first Mod Pizza in Seattle, Washington. The concept — artisan pizza built to order at fast-food speed — earns a loyal following within weeks.

2011

Expanding Across the Pacific Northwest

Five new locations open in Washington and Oregon. The "one price, unlimited toppings" model proves sustainable and wildly popular. Customer lines stretch out the door daily.

2014

National Expansion Begins

Mod Pizza crosses the Rockies with new locations in Illinois, Texas, and California. We reach 50 locations and are recognized as one of the fastest-growing restaurant concepts in America.

2017

The Squad Hits 5,000 Strong

Our employee base — whom we call "the squad" — reaches 5,000 people. We launch our second-chance hiring initiative, actively recruiting from underserved communities and those overcoming barriers to employment.

2019

International Debut

Mod Pizza opens its first international location in the United Kingdom, bringing the mod pizza customization experience to a global audience for the very first time.

2021

Digital Ordering Goes Live

The redesigned Mod Pizza app launches with full menu customization, loyalty rewards, and real-time order tracking. Digital orders account for over 35% of all sales within six months.

2024

A New Chapter in Naperville

We proudly establish our flagship experience center at 2835 Showplace Dr, Naperville, IL — a hub for innovation, hospitality training, and the next generation of mod pizza creativity.
